Travel Tours Germany - Be Kind To Travel Service People
Even though the service people are not even the cause of the frustration in the first place, many people will take their frustration out on the service people that are trying to help them. And you will begin to see what the service people are dealing with, now multiply your frustration by hundreds of other travelers. Etc, lost luggage, delayed flights. Travel can often be full of stressful situations.
Or would you get a certain fiendish pleasure from making it just a little harder for them? Would you go out of your way to help them? How would you react if someone came up and was yelling at you? Imagine yourself doing their job. Put yourself in the service person's shoes, first.
While the other guy remained stuck at the airport, she ended up getting my brother and his family on a plane. He said he would appreciate anything she could do. And told her that he understood what she was going through, he apologized for the other guy, when my brother approached. She basically told the guy there was nothing she could do. The guy in front of my brother was screaming at the woman at the check in counter. And travelers were scrambling to get flights out, there was a hurricane approaching San Juan. If one case my brother and his family were trying to return to the United States from San Juan Puerto Rico. While everyone else is being nasty to them, i have heard a variety of stories from people who have gotten extra special service by simply being nice to the service person.
Or at least made me wait longer in case one came in, maybe he would have made me wait for an economy sized car to come in. But what if I had been impatient and short with the guy? Maybe I would have. Might I have been bumped up anyway? The guy had us in another car about two levels above the one I had reserved, within a couple minutes. And to get me a car when he could, i told the guy to relax and take his time, remembering my brother's experience. The guy seemed a bit harried and said they were expecting more of that size in at any time. They were all out of the economy sized cars like I had reserved, one time at a Las Vegas rental car lot.
Or the rude jerk who nasty to them, the patient person who was nice and pleasant? Who do you think the service person is going to try to help first? I have heard of other people being put into first class so that they would make a flight.
Etc, etc, etc. You reap what you sow. You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar. What goes around comes around. So as the old sayings go: Treat others as you would like to be treated. But can give great rewards, being nice to service people doesn't cost anything.
